Dog Point

Dog Point is a boutique winery in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough, New Zealand’s foremost wine-growing region. Although only in business for a few years it has an impressive pedigree in that James Healey and Ivan Sutherland were formerly winemaker and viticulturist respectively at nearby Cloudy Bay, the legendary winery which put New Zealand wine, especially Sauvignon Blanc, on the world map 30 years ago. The winery is named after a hillock where wild dogs gathered during the days when the Wairau Valley and surrounding hills were sheep country.
