Rustenberg
Rustenberg has a wine growing history dating back to 1682 and is now recognised internationally as one of South Africa’s finest estates. Its top Bordeaux-type blends are prize winners at local and international competitions every year and can be found in the cellars of serious wine buffs the world over. Its Brampton range of wines are recognised for their easy drinking New World characteristics and are also prize winners – the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, for example, was a gold medal winner at the 2007 Old Mutual Wine Show and a silver medal winner at the 2007 International Wine Challenge. Rustenberg is also a dramatically picturesque estate near the town of Stellenbosch and anyone visiting the Cape should make a point of visiting for a tasting.
