Domaine Sainte Rose
Domaine Sainte Rose is a small, family owned and run estate at the forefront of the Languedoc wine revolution. Once best-known for its cheap and cheerful bulk wines, the Languedoc is now producing many wines of class and distinction thanks to a new generation and owners and winemakers who have seen the region’s potential. Amongst them are Charles and Ruth Simpson, owners of Domaine Sainte Rose, whose aim is to make authentic, affordable and hand-crafted wines of distinction. That they are succeeding is reflected in the fact that their wines are now sold in a dozen countries and receive a growing amount of critical acclaim from leading wine authorities like Jancis Robinson. This year its 2004 Barrel Selection Roussanne was selected as one of the top 100 Vin de Pays for 2006 while the Vent du Nord blend of Roussanne and Chardonnay and the Le Pinacle Syrah won medals at the annual Decanter World Wine Awards.
