Cantine Teanum
This ambitious new winery takes its name from the ancient Roman city of Teanum Apulum in the northern part of Puglia. It has set out to show just how good the wine from this area can be, especially when it is made from grapes like Primitivo, Aglianico and Negromara, all natives of southern Italy. The young and personable winemaker Donato Giuliani probably best summed up Teanum’s ambitions during Wine Express visit to the winery. “We want our wines to grace the same restaurant wine lists as you’ll find the wines of Tuscany and Piedmont. And why not? We have the climate, the grapes, the skills and the capital.”
